This collection features book cover illustrations created for horror, thriller, and dark speculative fiction. I primarily only do the artwork and not necessarily the type, unless discussed and agreed upon beforehand. For illustrative cover art, the main purpose of the artwork is to communicate narrative and genre while remaining visually striking and balanced. I believe book covers are marketing tools before anything else, that is their one true job, but I also understand when authors see them as a visual representation of their story. I try to work with the authors to bring their vision to life while also making the cover do its job. My work ranges all the way from dark sci-fi to a pulp-y crime thriller, helping publishers and independent authors create covers that stand out.
